Our story
Espréssate began in 2022 as a form of healing
Formerly known as Café Con Leche, RDU, Espréssate was founded by Iasia Montana while she was navigating the sudden loss of her father in 2021. It started as a therapeutic hobby. During one of the darkest seasons of her grief, the simple ritual of brewing café con leche became a lifeline — filling her home with a warm, familiar aroma that made it feel as though her father were still beside her.
Coffee became a way to connect, gather, slow down and create moments of comfort and joy. That spirit is still at the heart of Espréssate today. The brand is deeply inspired by Cuban coffee culture, where coffee is not rushed but shared as an act of care, and it carries her father’s memory into every event we work.
Today Espréssate is a Durham-based, locally owned business serving the greater Triangle. Every event is an opportunity to create one of those small but meaningful moments for someone else.

Every event is a room full of people, not a headcount. We want the person walking up to our bar to feel like their coffee was made specifically for them.

We aren't trying to be the biggest coffee company in the room. We want to be the one people remember — the coffee they talk about on the way home.

Roasted in Durham by Little Waves Coffee Roasters
All of our beans are locally roasted in partnership with Little Waves Coffee Roasters — an award-winning, woman-forward, Latina-owned micro-roaster right here in Durham.
We pair that quality with a menu inspired by Cuban coffee culture, including our signature Dulce-Sophia and Honey Cafecito, alongside familiar favorites like lattes, chai and hot chocolate. Guests can enjoy their drinks hot or iced, with dairy and oat milk options available.
